Some days just drag by....

How adorable is this old card?
Hiya Blogland!!! Greetings from Boredomland. This being laid up and housebound is really starting to harsh my mellow-LOL.  I've only been out to the doctors since mid December and I am going stir-crazy. Although I can't really do anything but veg in the recliner most of the day. I can sit in the office chair for maybe 2 hours and stand for like 15 minute intervals before I have to go back to the recliner or lay on the bed to relieve the pressure on the sciatic nerve.

I was really low today after spending hours on the phone with different entities concerning my treatments and the never-ending merry-go-round the Dept. of Labor is putting me on. STILL no PT as of this date. Now I need an MRI (the muscle spasm knot isn't getting any better) and that's another hassle for authorization. I wound up in tears of frustration and despair for most of the day.

Shuffled out with the dogs and checked the mail. There was a package for me from the always sparkly Val of Late Blooming Sparkle. She had sent me the adorable Gypsy Caravan she had made!!!
It brought such a ray of sunshine into my grey crappy day!! It's absolutely ADORABLE in person. So much detail. I need to find out where she got the little teapot and mugs because something like that would be perfect for the dollhouse!!

Now that I'm feeling a bit more cheerful I'll share what I wore to the doctor's yesterday. I decided to "dress up" (heh) as who knows when I'll be out in public again. The skirt, scarf, & boots are thrifted, the top was brought with a gift card. The purse is a gift from my friend Andrea--I thought the colors went perfectly with the outfit. I would've rather worn my wedge booties but I needed the stability of the flat boots. I got a spiffy new cane that I'll share pix of on Sunday!!

My Great-Grandmother Annie Lewis Grimes December 1910
This weeks SpyGirl 52 Pick-me-up challenge is 10's:1910 or 2010.   I decided to share a photo of my great-grandmother Annie Lewis Grimes in her wedding dress. She was married December 28, 1910. she made her outfit and hat. The dress was chocolate brown wool trimmed in rust colored velvet ( on the skirt and waistband)with tortoise shell buttons. Her blouse was cream colored lawn with cream crochet lace. The jacket had a shawlet of cream crocheted lace. Her gloves were brown kid. The hat was dark chocolate brown wool  with a dark brown veil and cream silk flowers. The ribbon around her neck was rust colored velvet.  I was blessed to have her tell me all about it so i could note it on the back of the picture for future.

I'm also hooking up with our Tartan Rose Bella and Citizen Rosebud: Shoeshine.  I picked these shoes up last month for $5. They are Clarks and appear to have never been worn. I'm anxious for warmer weather (and a better back) to wear them. They were super comfy trying on and walking around my house when I got them.

Sorry if I vented a bit there. I'm just frustrated. The dogs are getting very spoiled having all of this mommy lap time!!!  It's time for me to get out of this chair and put my feet up. Everyone have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back on Sunday!!

I hope you'll always feel free to vent here, dear Tamera. We are not robots, we are people with feelings, and ups and downs and yes, boredom! I love your outfit, with the inter-acting colors, and the picture of your great-grandmother. And wow, the gypsy caravan is pretty fabulous. Hang in there, my friend. xox

I second Patti- feel free to vent at will! I am frustrated on your behalf- the injury was a month ago, it's clear you want to be up and getting better, they're still jerking you around the system. Grah!

If puzzle games are your thing, there's a free online game called Puzzle Pirates you can download and play. I played it for years; it's a good game. (:

What a nice surprise in the mail! I'm sure you wanted to hijack that gypsy caravan and take it away somewhere fun.

I really feel for you gal. I know how being in that state is not only painful and exhausting but depressing as well. I hope that you are able to move forward with getting some much needed treatment that will relieve your symptoms and get you back doing all the wonderful creative things you love.

I'm so happy to see you still had the energy to get dressed up for the Dr.'s appointment. I'm off to my third Dr.'s appointment this week and I won't look nearly as spiffy as you.

Sending you loads of pugs hugs and love Zoe & Suzanne

Oh Tamera, things sound so difficult for you. You have every right to vent, go ahead. I am amazed you manage to look so bright and cheery, I think I would be beside myself.
Love the photo of your great-grandmother, and your new shoes!
Keep your chin up, love - this too shall pass. xxxx

Hoo boy. Persistent sciatic pain sure is a real pain in the arse eh? I feel your struggles with authorities, I really do. I've decided that next time hubby has problems with getting the health care he needs, I'm going to dress up in a circus tutu and lie on the floor at the surgery/office/clinic/waiting room, whatever. I'm sick of seeing the dearest people being treated like crap and you are one of them. Big hugs my lovely. xoxoxoxoox

sorry that you're still fighting with bureaucreacy to have your treatment done!, so disgusting! I would be furious too!
But you're looking really cheerful and gorgeous with your pretty scarf and matching bag, so cute!, it's great that you dressed up to go to the doctor!
And love that you shared your great-grandma pic, fabulous ol'style glamour!

Tamera, I'm so glad that little Gypsy Caravan cheered you up. Think of it as a Desktop Daydream! And I forgot to let you know where I got the teapot - on Etsy at Louisianaminis. The mini tarot cards were also from Etsy at Green Gypsies.

You look perky in your outfit - the blue and yellow are bright and energetic, even if you're not feeling that way. And your grandmother's outfit is so cool! Wouldn't it be great to make a copy of it? It would still be so stylish.

Great find on the shoes. I hope you'll be able to wear them soon! Take care.

Oh, Tamera, I am so sorry to hear that you've been under the weather. Obvi, I am behind on my blogs, and maybe a little too mired in our own medical journey, which has led to me being more down in the dumps than I wish. But I'm virtually hugging you. In the days I had a job, I would have been exactly what you need - fighting to get you the medical treatment you need! But seeing the pics of the wonderful gypsy caravan, your lovely grandmother on her wedding day, and you looking very pretty on your outing lift my spirits.

I'm thinking of you and wishing you Godspeed on your recovery.

Love ya,
Lynne

Wishing you all the best Tamera. Your colorful look is fun and lovely. I hope you're soon feeling as good as you look.

I have been experiencing some setbacks as well at the beginning/end of this year. <3 All my best. I hope we both are on the up and up soon.

Sending much, much love,

I'm a fan of Clark's comfort and those shoes have a great Old Timey style- I can't believe you got them for $5!!! You are sunshine- even under the weather- and you and stripes plus that scarf are pure fresh air on a triscuit.

I recognized Val's sparkling brilliance! I treasure my little tin she gave me and am this very moment wearing one of her wonderful brooches!

Hugs and thank YOU so much for sharing your STELLAR spirit with me, and the rest of the Rosebuds for Shoe Shine. You truly are a STAR.
